WHAT?! Brie's actually updating this thing???!?!!!!?!?! Sorry I've been so busy and kind of neglecting this thing, but as long as I post on here every once in a while I guess I'm good. So basically to give you guys an update that I don't really go into too much detail on on my channel (I kind of dance around it on the videos really...) Bill and I have split up, we are separated and in the process of getting the divorce paperwork all worked out. I moved back in with my parents to try to save a little bit of money and focus on my career and of course...my youtube channel :-) I'm fine so don't worry! It's really for the best and ultimately I'm the one who really wanted this to start with. Sometimes what may seem like forever at the time just doesn't work out. I know there's a lot of people out there who have views on divorce and what not, but I was raised Catholic and technically you're not supposed to get divorced with them either! Ultimately, I'm 22...I have time in my life to figure out who I am, what I want, and the person whom I'm really meant to spend "forever" with.
So not to bore you guys with too much information, I have a new Halloween makeup look for you today. Props to ANYONE out there who gets my little Jim Gaffigan comedy reference with the title!

All about SuperCuts
So as many of you may or may not know, I work for a company called SuperCuts. Say what you want about chain places, but the store I work at gives some of the best haircuts in my town. I've done a better haircut for $16, than I've seen someone at the last salon I worked at give for $40. That really says something, not to mention, we do a good 75% military alone. I had my reservations about working for a company like SuperCuts when I was in school. I think the problem is, when you're in beauty school and they talk about the different types of salons, they almost drill it into your head that chain or corporate companies are bad and you should aim to work at a "high end" place right out of the gate. Point blank...IF YOU GO INTO A HIGH END PLACE RIGHT OUT OF BEAUTY SCHOOL, YOU WILL NOT MAKE ANY MONEY. Most high end salons are appointment only, and the clients who are calling to make appointments, already have their stylist that they are comfortable going to. Without clientele, you have no income, and with no income, what's the point in working at all? Most successful hairdressers start off in smaller shops and work their way up, and the clients that they obtain along the way follow them from location to location, providing that they can afford a price change if there is one. Now I have seen the occasional exception. Another way of achieving your hours is to apprentice in a salon. When you apprentice, it's more hands on, the clients get to know you, and then they know your face. However if you walk into a high end salon right out of beauty school and expect to make a shit ton of money, you are in for a RUDE awakening.
My SuperCuts story:
I went into SuperCuts about 3 weeks before I graduated school. I went in on a Saturday with the intention of dropping off a resume, and maybe filling out an application. Mind you, I had about 10 other copies of my resume in the passenger seat of my car...it was a full day! I filled out the application, and Heather (the manager) had a spare second and took me in the conference room to talk. I had an impressive resume from small jobs like weddings and stuff I had done on the side so she offered me what they offer every stylist, a chance to give...an audition...if you will. Basically, get someone to come in and be your model, do a shampoo, cut, blow dry on them, and then the assess your work. So I did, the haircut came out great, my client was happy, and Heather offered me a job.
Supercuts is different than a lot of companies in a sense that they don't just throw you on the floor after hiring you and say "here's a haircut!" Supercuts actually has their own technique of cutting. It's not terribly different than the cuts they teach you in beauty school, but it's just a more efficient way of getting things done. To be honest, some of the techniques they teach us actually make more sense than what the instructors at the beauty school taught us. The training was a week long (Monday thru Friday 10-6) at the Middletown location. That store has a little training studio in the back, and they do all of the training for the DE stores there. So during training, they teach you a good 10 haircuts, make you do at least 30 haircuts I believe, before the week is over. Then usually by the Wednesday of the week, they can gage whether you pass and can start on the floor, or maybe need some work and need to be reception until the next month's class. So I passed, started on the floor that Monday; I'll admit, it was a little nerve wracking. I knew what I was doing, but it took me a good month/month and a half to become slightly more confident than I was. I wouldn't even touch a pair of clippers when I got out of beauty school, so the idea of doing mostly men's haircuts scared the living shit out of me. I can now officially say with confidence, I feel like I know more, and can cut hair BETTER than a lot of the girls I went to school with. That's not saying anything against any of them or the education we got at the school we all went to (well...partially...lol we won't go there) but it's because I feel like I was given the opportunity to better my skills right out of school. That's why Supercuts targets girls that are right out of school, they are the easiest ones to teach. We had a girl quit recently after 2 days because she had been doing hair for years, didn't like that we aren't full service, and didn't like that she had to change HER way of cutting hair to work for the company. I can actually say, I like that we aren't full service. Supercuts still specializes in cuts, color/hilights, and facial waxing. (Some SuperCuts actually are full service but it depends on the area) I like the idea of it only taking between 10 and 20 minutes to do a haircut. I look at it now and wonder why in the hell anyone needs an hour to just CUT someone's hair?! I have been with this company for what will be a year in October, in that time I feel as though I have learned so much more than I possibly could have if I had gone somewhere else and tried to rely on my beauty school skills. I have been rewarded for it as well, being that I was made a Shift Manager in June. So when people ask where I work and wrinkle there noses or make snide comments, I have quite a lot to stand up for actually.
So next time you need a haircut and are questioning where to get it done, try out a Supercuts, everyone goes through that education I was talking about and they actually know what their doing. The problem is, most chain places get a bad rep just because most DO NOT provide education for their stylists. Smart Styles in Walmarts for example, are old school 40+ stylists who cannot be taught different, or girls right out of school who still are relying on the beauty school taught ("90" or "180" haircuts) and the basis of any good business is word of mouth. A stylist fucks up someone's hair, and they're going to tell people. Anyway, so sorry that was so long winded! I applaud you if you read that whole thing and I'd buy you a drink for it if I could lol!
IF YOU ARE IN THE DOVER/CAMDEN, DE AREA AND ARE EITHER ABOUT TO GRADUATE BEAUTY SCHOOL OR ALREADY HAVE A PROFESSIONAL COSMETOLOGY LICENSE, SUPERCUTS IS HIRING FOR THE RT. 8 DOVER LOCATION OPENING OCTOBER 9TH. GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR, HOURLY WAGE, PLUS 10% COMMISSION ON RETAIL, PLUS TIP. IF INTERESTED, CALL OR STOP BY THE CAMDEN LOCATION NEXT TO THE WALMART, OR CALL 302-698-1988

Benefit Pretty Committee Kit
So I was at Sephora recently and I found this kit from Benefit that I thought was really cool. It's 3 full size products and one travel size products
Benefit Stay Don't Stray Under eye concealer/primer/shadow primer: Full Size
Benefit Box Blush Bella Bamba: Full Size
Benefit Eye Bright Pencil: Full Size
Benefit High Beam Highligher: Travel Size
This kit sold for $38 which is awesome for a kit that consists of mostly full size products. I'm really impressed with all of the products in this kit. I had the full size of the High Beam and I enjoyed it. Check this out at Sephora. They may or may not still have some left.

Update on life
So originally I was going to do blog posts that went along with the Pretty Little Liars series that I'm doing on my youtube channel, but the pictures haven't been turning out the way that I wanted them to. Oh well...
So yeah to just update on life a little bit, I've been working non-stop and the store and I feel like it's consuming my life but it totally pays off (literally) when it comes to my income. Regardless of the fact I've been trying to update on here and on my channel as much as I can. I was going to film something earlier today but it had to be put off when my husband was up in the attic trying to fix a problem with our air duct, and the ladder to get up in the attic, completely fell (more like ripped) out of the ceiling! We've been having major problems with the guy who built our house, it's still in his contract to finish the work that he still hasn't, and it's been a good 90 days since we've moved in. I hate to rant about it but it's really to that point.
All that's wrong/left to be finished in our house:
-Removal of construction supplies from shed/house (their shit is still everywhere!)
-We have a ceiling fan that is hanging from the ceiling basically which has yet to be attached
-We were supposed to have crown molding in both my office that I use for filming and also our Master bedroom, that hasn't happened
-Every time we use our main master shower, we have a giant puddle of water that forms in the hallway in front of our door
-I have no closet in the Master Bedroom! All of my nice clothing is folded in a pile. I feel like I have to buy new clothing because I get sick of wearing the same thing over and over again, I hate to say it but as a girl who has to wear nice stuff to work, this makes me the angriest lol.
-There are paint spots that they didn't fill in all over our ceilings
-and last but not least, now I have a gaping hole in my ceiling that we taped 2 trash bags over to keep the heat up there because the dumbasses that built our house decided that the trim and finishing nails was enough to hold a ladder in.
So again, I hate to rant but all of the communication with this guy in the past 2 months has been done straight through his attorney. We've been threatening to get a lawyer but now it's serious. When Bill (who had knee surgery 2 months ago might I add) could have fallen from the ceiling and impailed himself on the springs or whatever of this ladder on the floor, then it's a safety hazard and our goal is to make this MF pay (LITERALLY) I took pictures of not only the ladder on the floor, but all of the other stuff that's wrong with the house and we're taking this guy to court over it. Bill even said that when he spoke to the builder's lawyer over the phone, the lawyer even had a "yeahh we're fucked..." tone in his voice because he knows he has nothing to stand on. The builder became really shady after we closed. It's still in his contract which both Bill and myself signed, that he's required to finish these things, and the reason we've been speaking to his attorney is because Dave (the builder) won't return calls, texts, emails, anything. So we figure if we speak to his attorney, he'll relay the message. The quote that really sends a shiver up my spine is when Bill was on the phone with the attorney and said "ok well here's one more message for Dave, 'see you in court!'"
So provided that everything goes the way we're hoping, our house will be paid off by the end of the year. There's no way in hell a judge would think twice on this. Dave's got nothing, his attorney has nothing, and I almost had to drive my husband to the ER due to falty craftsmanship.
So now that that's out of my system!
GOODNIGHT!

Urban Decay Palettes: Skull Shadow & Vegan
So I got a couple palettes from the Urban Decay sale and I'm pretty excited about it. I love that Urban Decay actually puts things that are for "sale" on their website for a discounted price, some companies don't do that.
The Vegan palette has shadows that are 100% vegan. That isn't a big deal to me, but I know there are some that truly care about that.

Major issues with Youtube
So if you couldn't tell from the title, or the fact that there hasn't been a video up in a while, I'm having some MAJOR issues signing in to my youtube account. It worked fine 3 days ago and now I can't access it.
This is what happens:
I click sign in like any normal person would do, it directs you to the page which should bring up the sign in bars, and nothing, it just puts you right on the home page.
"hmm that's weird, oh let's try this..."
I click on "create account" and redirect to the sign in page from there (this actually does bring up the sign in bars) so I type in all my info...wait for it......NOTHING right back to the home page and NOT on my account.
"ooookkkk what's wrong here....maybe this'll work..." click on upload to try to sign in from there, and the url box gets really glitchy and doesn't load.
I've reported this to both youtube and google since they're linked and I've gotten no response or help back (not that I expect to, they're customer service is useless) I'm really annoyed because this isn't the first time that this has happened. Only the first time one of the options above actually worked and youtube didn't sign me out automatically like it did. Bill works with Aircraft computers for goodness sake and he still couldn't figure out what was wrong. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or a bug with youtube or with google chrome, or just my computer. One way or another I might have a clusterf*** of videos go up all at once if I ever get this resolved.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Liquid Makeup
So I had heart A LOT about this foundation through the twitter buzz and also on YouTube as well. Urban Decay recently came out with their Naked Skin foundation, inspired by the success of the Naked palettes. This foundation is a light weight, medium-coverage liquid foundation that you can build up for more coverage as needed. Unlike a lot of liquid foundations I've tried, the Urban Decay Naked Skin is created without oils, parabins and fragrances. This makeup was also created with green tea and vitamin E to help give the skin a youthful appearance. My skin is slightly sensitive; I say slightly because some stuff bothers it, and some doesn't. The only major breakout I've had out of the ordinary in my life was about a year ago when I had a HORRIBLE hormonal breakout (and a 20lb weight gain) from the Depovara shot. Since then I've been buying skin products based on the advice from a friend who's licensed in skin care.
All in all, this foundation is amazing! I still use a setting powder and an undereye concealer with this, however the way that it is formulated, it is non-essential. The idea behind this foundation is that your skin is "naked" and you are virtually wearing nothing.
The foundation retails for $38 and is sold at Sephora, Ulta, Macy's UD counters, and Sephora inside JCPenny. While the price is a little steep for 1 FL oz, I noticed 2 pumps with a damp brush was enough for my whole face.
My only complaint about this product is the packaging. While the tube/jar/bottle, whatever you want to call it, is aesthetically pleasing to look at, it would take up half a makeup back if you were to travel with it, unlike Makeup Forever Matte Velvet + (another one of my faves!) I've mentioned it before, Urban Decay is known for having "pretty" packaging, but as pretty as it is, pretty is not always functional and easy for travel. To only have a complaint about the packaging, I'd say that's pretty impressive! I'm not saying that you have to run out and buy this right away, but I'd totally check it out if you're looking for a light weight foundation as we approach the end of the months.
